From Jennifer Kyrnin, your Guide to Web Design / HTML
This week I'm looking at web page editors. It's the beginning of October, and that means it's time for me to start my annual update of the available editors for web designers. I review nearly 200 HTML and web page editors every year, but I'm sure there are ones I've missed. If you know of an editor that I haven't reviewed, please let me know about it by writing a review and I'll add it to my list. The landscape of web page editors is changing, which makes reviewing them challenging. Find out about some new features that are starting to take over how web pages are edited. Plus, I'm curious if you've ever tried the online web page editor, Cubender. And I posted a profile of the in-browwser editor "Editor for Chrome."

There are hundreds, if not thousands of different web editors available for you to use. I have a script to help you find the perfect web page editor, but sometimes it's easier to see reviews of editors by other people and decide based on their opinions. I have received several new web editor reviews from other About.com readers. Some interesting ones that have just come in include:

Web Editors are Changing
I have noticed a trend towards two new types of web page editors: animation editors and online editors. Are these new editors just gimmicks or do you think that you would use them to design professional pages? And are there new types of editors you have seen around?

Have You Used Cubender for Building Web Pages?
Cubender is one of those new types of editors. It's a WYSIWYG editor that's completely online. And rather than paying for the software separately, you pay for it as a service and post your pages on their site. They insist they are not a hosting provider, what do you think?

Editor for Chrome
This is a more standard HTML text editor that works right inside your web browser. Find out what I think of this editor in my profile of the Chrome extension "Editor for Chrome."

Poll: Do you know what a virtual host is?
Virtual hosting is what most personal and small websites use for hosting. Instead of having a dedicated IP and machine where only your website lives, your site is hosted on a server with a bunch of other websites. In fact, most hosting today is on a virtual host. Vote Now View Results
