From Jennifer Kyrnin, your Guide to Web Design / HTML
I've been really busy the last few weeks working on an HTML5 book and then at a conference, so I don't have any new articles this week (sorry!) but I thought you might like to check out some of these older articles that are still useful for learning web design skills. I've been writing about HTML and web design since 1997, so there are a lot of articles to choose from! If you're curious about what I was writing about years ago, check out the date index.

I've been writing about HTML, CSS, and web design since 1997. I have hundreds, if not thousands, of articles on the site that have just as much relevance today as they did when I first wrote them. You can find them by searching the site, or more simply by browsing the aforementioned article library. And if you can't find the answer to your question, you can always suggest an article or ask a question in my web design and HTML forums.

Anti-alias Information
Images on web pages are made of square blocks or pixels, and so it can be difficult for a monitor to display really smooth curves. Anti-aliasing or font smoothing is a way of making those curves appear smoother on a monitor.

CSS Media Types Create Print-Friendly Pages
CSS is not just for styling web pages in browsers. You can use CSS to style your web pages for print. Rather than creating an entirely different web page that is intended to be printed, you can use CSS2 print properties to style your pages so that they print more effectively.

Poll: Do you like you-are-here indicators in navigation?
You-are-here indicators are a way of telling people where they are in the navigation of a web page. Many For example, you might change the color of the navigation section or add a pointer or something else. But a lot of sites don't include them at all. What do you think about these indicators? Worthless or critical? Vote Now View Results
