From Jennifer Kyrnin, your Guide to Web Design / HTML

May was a busy month for me, but on things other than my About.com site, so if you thought I was around less, I apologize. Hopefully, June will give me more time. One of the things I'm looking forward to doing more of is fun tutorials on how to create interesting graphic-like features on your web pages using CSS. Articles like the CSS3 Buttons from this month and the Glow Effects with CSS3 article from last month. If you have any suggestions for what you'd like to know how to do with CSS, please don't hesitate to let me know.

Web Design / HTML Interns Wanted

If you or anyone you know is interested in writing about HTML, web design or topics of interest to designers, please don't hesitate to apply.

Please forward this newsletter, in its entirety, to your colleagues, coworkers and friends, anyone you think would like to learn more about web design, HTML, and web development.

Below are some of the more popular articles from last month:

Fun Buttons with CSS3
I can't tell you how long I've been waiting for the chance to make these types of image-like objects on a web page without using images.

Flash Websites Need Fallback Options for iOS Users
I realize that there are a lot of Flash developers out there who don't want to have to learn something new to build sites and apps for iOS. But honestly, telling your readers to go out and buy a different tablet is not going to cut it. When even Adobe is making the move away from Flash for mobile devices, it's time to start looking for other options for your mobile customers.

CSS Vendor Prefixes
Using vendor prefixes is the right thing to do to create websites that are widely compatible and use modern techniques. Of course, you could just ignore CSS3 until CSS4 is out, but you'll be missing out on a lot of fun!

Dreamweaver CS6 Review
There are some great new features (grid layouts!) and some that are still missing (where's CSS3 in the CSS menus?). Find out what I think of the latest version of Dreamweaver.
