From Jennifer Kyrnin, your Guide to Web Design / HTML
This week you will learn a little about the new HTML5 AUDIO element. Plus, I have a book review of the book CSS3 for Web Designers that talks about CSS3 that works right now. And Darla has a great article on SVG mobile.

Every week in the forum we get several pleas for help. Sometimes I have answers but not always. If you've ever been helped by someone else, why not take a few minutes to pop into the Web Design forum or the HTML / XML forum and "pay it forward."

HTML5 Adds an AUDIO Element to Embed Sound Files
The HTML5 AUDIO element makes it easy to add sound and music to your web pages. In fact, it's almost harder to convert the audio to the multiple formats that are recommended for optimal browser support. This article will teach you how to put sound on an HTML5 web page.

Are you thinking about CSS3?
You should be. And this book by Dan Cederholm (CSS3 for Web Designers) from A Book Apart is a great way to get started. You'll have suggestions for how to use CSS3 that works right now and even examples in a real (well, sorta) site.

What is SVG Mobile
Darla has covered a lot about scalable vector graphics (SVG), but if you're going to write SVG for mobile devices, you need to know the different flavors of SVG. This week's XML article features information about mobile versions of SVG and how to choose which is best for your audience.
